The internet discussion list 'Languse' is dedicated to issues relevant to the study and analysis of discourse, conversation, talk-in-interaction, and social action in general. As of September, 2009, 1,040 people, worldwide, have subscribed to Languse. Anyone is welcome to subscribe to Languse. Subscribers are encouraged to post questions to the list relating to their research on language and social interaction, and to address, in a spirit of collegial collaboration, others' postings. The major purpose of the list is to advance scholarly debate and to disseminate knowledge and information on matters relating to research in language and social interaction. Issues regularly covered on the list are interdisciplinary in nature, and reflect the breadth and dynamism of contemporary research into discourse and spoken interaction in a wide variety of social contexts. Languse is a lively forum, and subscribers are generous in helping one another with inquiries and in responding to questions and viewpoints relating to such things as analysis of data, methodology, the practicalities and ethics of data gathering, the use of recording equipment, transcription conventions, the meaning and interpretation of technical concepts, and references to research publications on specific topics. Quite often, announcements of symposia and conferences are posted. GUIDELINES for SUBSCRIBERS: Please abide by the following: 1. Do not attach any files of any kind to your postings to Languse. 2. Do not engage in personal attacks or use inflammatory language. 3. Do not post advertisements of any kind to Languse. Failure to comply will result in ejection from Languse. To post a message to all the list members, send email to languse@hum.aau.dk. You can SUBSCRIBE to the list, UNSUBSCRIBE, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Languse
Subscribe to Languse by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
